iOS User Guide

Settings

Customize turntable physics, tempo range, audio options, and manage your cache.

Accessing Settings

Tremor settings are located in the iOS Settings app. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, scroll down, and tap Tremor.

Why iOS Settings? Putting preferences in the system Settings app keeps the DJ interface clean and focused on performance. Your settings persist across app updates.

Turntable Settings

Customize how the virtual turntables feel and respond to your touch.

Setting Description
Motor Speed Controls vinyl rotation speed when playing.
Standard (200 deg/s) Classic (180 deg/s)
Platter Feel Controls the inertia of the virtual platter. Heavier settings feel more like real vinyl.
Snappy Medium Heavy
Audio While Seeking When enabled, you hear audio while scratching or seeking through the track, similar to CDJ behavior. When disabled, audio is muted during seek.
On Off
Smooth Physics Enhanced inertia simulation for more realistic vinyl feel when scratching and releasing the platter.
On Off

Tip: Start with Medium platter feel. If you're a turntablist who does scratching, try Heavy for more realistic vinyl resistance.

Tempo Settings

Configure the tempo fader range and direction to match your mixing style.

Setting Description
Tempo Range Sets the maximum speed adjustment available on the tempo fader.
6% 10% 16% 50% 100%
Slider Direction Controls which direction increases tempo.
DJ Standard Inverted

Choosing a Tempo Range

  • 6% — Precise control for mixing tracks with similar BPMs (e.g., house, techno)
  • 10% — Good balance for most genres (default)
  • 16% — Wider range for mixing across genres
  • 50% — Extreme adjustments for creative effects
  • 100% — Full range from half-speed to double-speed

DJ Standard vs Inverted: On traditional DJ equipment, pushing the fader up (away from you) slows the track down. This is "DJ Standard." If you prefer up = faster, choose "Inverted."

Audio Settings

Configure audio behavior and headphone routing.

Setting Description
Remember Volume When enabled, Tremor restores your volume fader and crossfader positions from your last session.
Off On
Split Audio Routes cue audio to headphones while master output goes to the main speakers. Only available when an audio interface with multiple outputs is connected.
Off On

Split Audio requires hardware: Connect a USB audio interface with separate headphone and main outputs to enable split audio routing. This allows you to preview tracks in your headphones while the audience hears only the master mix.

AI Features

Configure advanced AI-powered features.

Setting Description
Realtime Stems When enabled, stem separation prioritizes the audio nearest your current playback position. You can start mixing with stems in about 1.5 seconds instead of waiting for the full track to process.
Off On

How Realtime Stems works: Instead of processing the entire track from start to finish, Tremor analyzes segments nearest your playback cursor first. As you play, additional segments are processed in the background. The full-quality stems replace the partial results once complete.

iPad Layout iPad Only

Choose how many decks to display on your iPad.

Setting Description
Deck Count
2 Decks 2 Decks + Library 4 Decks

Layout Options

  • 2 Decks — Full-size dual deck layout with turntables, waveforms, and all controls visible
  • 2 Decks + Library — Split view with decks on top and embedded music library on bottom. Browse and load tracks without opening a separate sheet
  • 4 Decks — Four-deck layout with the Orbital Fader, a 2D XY crossfader that blends between all four decks based on position

Orbital Fader: In 4-deck mode, move the fader to a corner for a single deck, to an edge for a 2-deck crossfade, or to the center to blend all four decks together.

iPhone Layout iPhone Only

Enable experimental layout options for iPhone.

Setting Description
4 Decks Enable experimental 4-deck landscape mode on iPhone. When enabled, rotating to landscape shows four decks with the Orbital Fader.
Off On

Experimental: 4-deck mode on iPhone is optimized for larger iPhone models (Pro Max). On smaller screens, controls may be compact.

Cache Management

Tremor caches analysis data and separated stems for faster loading. Clear caches to reclaim disk space.

BPM Cache
Stores BPM, key, and classification data for analyzed tracks
Clear
Stems Cache
Stores separated stem files (approximately 200MB per track)
Clear

When to Clear Caches

  • Low disk space — Stems cache can grow large if you separate many tracks
  • Troubleshooting — If analysis results seem incorrect, clearing the BPM cache forces re-analysis
  • After app updates — Major updates may improve analysis accuracy; clearing cache lets you benefit from improvements

Cache sizes: The Settings screen shows how much space each cache is using. Tap Clear next to a cache to delete its contents. Tracks will be re-analyzed the next time you load them.
