Loading Video Files
Tremor supports video files just like audio tracks. Load them onto your decks and mix visuals alongside your audio.
Supported Formats
MP4
MPEG-4 video with H.264 or HEVC (H.265) codec.
MOV
Apple QuickTime format with H.264 or HEVC codec.
M4V
iTunes video format with H.264 or HEVC codec.
How to Load Video
Tap the music note button on a deck to open the library browser.
Switch to the Files tab to browse video files from the Files app, iCloud Drive, or external storage.
Tap a video file to load it to the deck. Video loads just like audio tracks with waveform and BPM analysis.
Tip
For best performance, use videos encoded with H.264 at 1080p or lower. Higher resolutions work but may impact battery life on older devices.
Video on Vinyl
This is where Tremor gets creative. When you load a video, it appears directly on the turntable platter, spinning with the record grooves overlay.
- Video spins with the record — The video rotates at the current playback speed, following the vinyl aesthetic.
- Scratch the vinyl, scratch the video — Touch the platter and scratch back and forth. The video follows your finger exactly, just like the audio.
- All deck controls work — Play, pause, cue, pitch adjustment, loops, and effects all control video playback in sync with audio.
- Visual feedback — See the video content while you perform, making it easy to cue to specific visual moments.
Creative Technique
Use the pitch fader to slow down or speed up video playback. Scratch video loops for visual turntablism effects that audiences love.
Video Mix Page
Preview your blended video output before sending it to an external display.
Accessing the Video Page
Swipe to the Video page in the center panel (between the other control pages).
The preview shows the blended output of both decks based on the crossfader position.
Crossfader Control
The crossfader controls video blend exactly like it controls audio:
| Position | Video Output |
|---|---|
| Full left | Deck A video only |
| Center | Both videos blended |
| Full right | Deck B video only |
The video crossfade follows your selected curve (Scratch, Cut, Linear, Constant Power), just like audio.
AirPlay Output
Send your video mix to external displays wirelessly using AirPlay. Perfect for venue projectors, TVs, and LED walls.
Requirements
- Apple TV or any AirPlay-compatible display
- Both devices on the same Wi-Fi network
How to Connect
Swipe down from the top-right corner to open Control Center.
Tap Screen Mirroring (the two overlapping rectangles icon).
Select your Apple TV or AirPlay display from the list.
Your video mix now appears on the external display.
iPad External Display Mode
On iPad, Tremor takes advantage of separate screen output:
- External display shows video only — clean full-screen visuals with no UI elements.
- iPad screen keeps the full DJ interface — you control everything privately while the audience sees only the video.
Pro Setup
Connect your iPad to a venue projector via AirPlay. The audience sees your video mix full-screen while you DJ with the complete interface on your iPad. No adapter cables required.
Recording Video Mixes
Record your video DJ set along with the audio mix, all captured together as a single file.
How to Record
Swipe to the MIC/REC page in the center panel.
Tap the record button to start recording.
DJ your video mix. Both video and audio are captured together.
Tap the record button again to stop recording.
Where Recordings Are Saved
Video recordings are saved as MP4 files in the Recordings folder. Access them from the Recordings tab in the music library. Share via AirDrop, Messages, or upload directly to social media.
